We need your participation to ensure the continued success of the popular Kaleidoscope session!
Last year's Kaleidoscope featuring reports on several books that have application for education and professional development brought rave reviews, and we'd like to build on that success this year.
At the same time, we know that many of you have other excellent ideas that lend themselves to the Kaleidoscope format. We want to hear from you, too!
So this year's Kaleidoscope will combine the best of both. We plan to present an equal mix of book reports and other brief presentations.
If you have an idea--a classroom or professional development activity that works exceptionally well, for example--or if you would like to volunteer to read and report on a book, please complete the Call for Kaleidoscope, Posters form.

The checklist can be used in several ways--as a coaching tool, a tool for teacher self-evaluation, and a tool for administrators. The presenter created the checklist based on Keith Lenz's work in the late 1990s and has found it very useful when conducting follow-up in classrooms.

During this session, the presenter will share information about how the Course Organizer was used as a framework for teachers during a summer workshop. Workshop participants were to integrate their knowledge of explicit direct instruction, curriculum mapping, and Dagget's Rigor and Relevance Framework during their summer curriculum work. A basketball theme inspired by one of the books shared at last year's Kaleidoscope (You Haven't Taught Until They Have Learned) added the opportunity to use the LINCing Routine, Concept Anchoring, and FRAME as well as the Course Organizer.
